One of our objectives is the development of a home that provides a positive and secure place to rest and learn during a separation within their marriage. This Momentum home would house the men of the marriage as usually there are kids involved and it has been proven through studies that the least amount of disruption for the kids is the best for their development. While the men are living in the Momentum home, they would be required to attend a group of other Christian men that meet at the home to gain other men’s perspectives and positive influence from these men. The men and their wives would also be required to attend individual sessions and a marriage session with our counselors each week. Their stay at the Momentum home would be limited to 3-4 months while undergoing restoration of their marriage. This is an adequate amount of time for a good foundation for marriage counseling to take hold and the couples to be ready to reunite and live under one roof. There would be negligible or little cost to the participants that live at the Momentum home as we want them to invest in God, their family and the counseling necessary for their restoration. When our group has intervened in a fallen marriage and surrounded the couple with healthy individuals and having God centric in the process, we have an overwhelming success rate at restoring the marriage and giving them the momentum to go forward.
We are currently working on finding a suitable home within the Cleveland County area of North Carolina.
